Chemistry Chapter 13
Chemistry Chapter 13The final book of the fourth book in the Harry Potter series, A History of Magic, is Chemistry Chapter 13. I was expecting this to be the shortest chapter of the book, but it turns out to be the longest of them all.Rowling's head is exploding. She figures that only by cramming all of her knowledge and information on magic, potions, and books on muggle technology, she can cram in all the necessary scientific information for Chemistry, the last chapter, to make it stand out. However, we can't really blame her for doing that, because if the book is only about magic, or only about chemistry, or even chemistry and muggle technology, that would seem to defeat the purpose of reading the book. Hence, she decided to come up with a chapter dedicated to all of these topics. If the chapter is just mere inventions, then no one would buy the book because it would seem as a copy of a science fiction novel that contains nothing but fiction. The chapter starts with the English town of Salisbury, where Rowling has used the Cheshire Cat to represent one of the alchemical movements. In the first attempt, we saw how the Cat managed to figure out that 'the core' of gold could be mixed with lime to make gold. The Cat does the same thing for Potter's blood. But rather than discovering that the Core can be mixed with ammonia, the potion was actually made by Potter's mother, so we find that his mother has been testing for chemistry, the whole time. The potions were not the mother's mistake, because the cats always try to take the blame for something they haven't done. So she goes back to her uncle, who was born a muggle, and asks him for help. And, of course, he is not too happy about that idea, because, first of all, muggles do not eat cat, and second of all, muggles had nothing to do with the experiments.Well, he did help with the first muggle experiment, a crossbreeding of muggle and wizard, so he knows what they're talking about. But that was about all he could help with, when he saw that the result was unbalanced. We were supposed to believe that Potter's mother put her entire life into this book, so he's probably going to sell the story for a good price. What could she do? She decides to look for a school of magic, and after that, she has to attend to her mother's life. It seems like one huge job that the mother of the hero of the book cannot handle.Still, it's all right, because it all seemed too easy, so her chapter turned out to be fun, anyway. The whole chapter is longer than chapter seven, so it's quite amusing when it turns out to be more complicated than chapter seven.
